Course Description

This course develops students’ ability to grow plants and understand their structure and function. 

Following on from L1HORT this course develops the students’ ability to propagate plants and control the media used for this purpose. The course provides a foundation for students to go on to study at L3 through a Polytechnic or Industry Provider in the fields of Amenity Horticulture or Production Horticulture.

This course will be assessed to a selection of Unit Standards, all internal, with students having the opportunity to gain up to 25 credits at L2.

Seeds, fertilizer and potting mix. $30


Required Prior Learning

Minimum entry requirement is L1 Achievement Standard in Science, or successful completion of L1HORT, or at the discretion of HOD Science.
