Course Description

This course is designed for students who are planning a career working with children or want an understanding of children’s behaviour. It would be suitable for those intending to study Health, Teaching, Psychology, Nursing or Social Work. It will enable students to contribute to an environment that provides for the holistic well-being and care of infants, toddlers, and young children.

This course is assessed to 19 credits in L2 Unit Standards from the Early Childhood sector and 5 Achievement Standard credits. Students will complete a work experience placement of up to 6 days.

Required Prior Learning

Entry is subject to the HOD and dependent upon proved performance in NCEA L1.  The expectation is that students would have gained 12 credits in a written based subject.
