Course Description

Media Studies is about the active exploration, analysis, creation, and enjoyment of the media and its products. L1 provides an understanding of individual media usage, media law, film, the internet and the print industry. Students will produce a magazine front cover and contents page.

This course will be assessed to a selection of L1 Media Studies Achievement Standards. Assessment is a combination of both internally and externally assessed standards. Students will have the opportunity to gain up to 26 credits at L1.

Required Prior Learning

To qualify for this course, students need to attain two out of three Common Assessment Tasks, and one written task in the Year 10 English examination. Entry is subject to approval by HOD of Media Studies.
