Course Description

This course provides students with an introduction to Financial Management. Students will study a selection of concepts and skills related to keeping accounts for small businesses and clubs. It is a good starting point for students who want to enter the profession of Accounting and for students who want to understand financial management for Businesses. 

It is also very useful for students who want to understand financial records they may encounter in their daily lives. Topics covered include the key concepts of Accounting, processing of financial information, preparing financial reports and analysis of financial reports.

This course will be assessed to a selection of L1 Accounting Achievement Standards. Assessment is a combination of both internally and externally assessed standards. Students will have the opportunity to gain up to 21 credits at L1.
