Teacher in Charge: Mr K. Williams
This is a full year course which leads on to NCEA L1 Te Reo Māori, Tikanga and/or Maori Performing Arts, and then onto study at Years 12 and 13.
Students will learn about marae protocol, waiata, haka and karakia, how to talk about themselves and their family, and how to talk about school. The course trains students in the communication skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

This is not a beginners course. Students with prior language learning may be accepted into the course with the approval of the HOD.
