L3 Te Reo Māori

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr B. Ketu

Further develops students’ abilities to take part in general conversation with Māori speakers. 

Students will be able to explain and discuss many of their own ideas and opinions and may use language creatively. They will be able to read a variety of authentic material, talk about a variety of topics and write expressively for a range of purposes. 

Topics studied may include,Treaty of Waitangi, Te Ao Hurihuri, Nga Moteatea and Nga Korero o Nehera and Ngā Waiata. Learning is enhanced with a field trip or noho marae.

This course will be assessed to a selection of 28 L3, Te Reo Māori Achievement Standards. Assessment is a combination of both internally and externally assessed standards.
