L2 Earth & Space Science

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms J. Grattan

In this specialty course, students who have an interest in our planet and beyond have the opportunity to explore aspects of space, environmental issues geology and earth processes. 

It is an academic course with a mix of internally and externally assessed standards and leads into University-approved L3 Earth and Space Science. The main areas include practical Earth and Space Investigation, stars and planetary systems, geological processes and extreme geological events in NZ.

This course will be assessed to a selection of Achievement Standards, both internal and external, with students having the opportunity to gain up to 20 credits at L2.

Minimum entry is 12 credits in L1 Science or if given approval by the HOD Science.
