L1 Technology Wood

A course which involves students establishing an idea for a product or need and the creation of a solution involving the application of technological practice. The students will research an idea/issue of their own and design their individual solution to the identified need.
Students will work mainly using wood as well as other materials. There is a clear focus on carefully planning out a well designed and constructed project. This course would be ideal for any student wishing to either progress to higher education, become an accomplished designer or undertake any trade or technology based career. The students will gain practical skills from this course.
This course will be assessed to a selection of L1 Technology Achievement Standards. Assessment is a combination of both internally and externally assessed standards. Students will have the opportunity to gain up to 24 credits at L1.
Required Prior Learning
Either proven performance in Year 10 Technology and/or at the discretion of HOD Technology.
Cost for course materials that will be consumed or taken home. NB: For students who design larger, or more complex projects, the school fee may not cover the total cost of their materials. Any students in this situation will be invoiced later in the year on a case by case basis. $130
