L3 Calculus
Subject Description

This challenging course is intended for those students who wish to study Mathematics beyond school. The focus is on Algebra, Calculus and Mathematical thinking.
It will be useful for students interested in careers in Engineering, Medicine, Economics, Finance or Architecture to name a few.
Students can gain up to 24 credits. Students will be assessed to L3 Calculus Achievement Standards. Assessment is a combination of both internally and externally assessed standards.
Required Prior Learning
Students MUST have achieved at least 16 credits in NCEA L2 Mathematics Standards with a GPA of 60% or more. This equates to a minimum of 7 credits at Merit level. Students also need the approval of the HOD.
Subject Costs
The optional Learning Workbook is highly recommended. You will be given the opportunity to purchase an ESA Learning Workbook at the start of the year, at a cost of $25. D&D Resources Revision books for External Assessments. These are optional, there are three books for this course, cost is $6 per book.
