L1 Economics

Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr K. Hansen.

Economics and Commerce is the exploration of knowledge, skills, and values students need to navigate, and participate in, the economic world, and contribute positively to it.

Students will learn how participants in the economic world make decisions, and they will analyse how these decisions impact communities and environments.

The course allows students to develop a toolkit which allows them to work through real-life problems relating to individual, whānau, and community financial and non-financial wellbeing, and apply decision-making skills to problems outside of the classroom.

Required Prior Learning

Entry is open, but subject to approval by the HOD and dependent on proven performance in Year 10 Social Studies.
